Speakers' Profiles
Nicholas Bacon QC Nicholas Bacon is probably one of the best known barristers in his specialised field of costs. He has appeared in practically all of the most important costs funding cases in recent years. Chambers and Partners have described him as “Undoubtedly the best-known junior in the field” and he is often instructed to challenge points of law as in Jones v Wrexham Borough Council, and Gloucestershire County Council v Evans. His costs practice is well juxtaposed to his professional negligence work with particular emphasis on solicitors’ negligence, both for and against solicitors. This includes solicitors’ regulatory and disciplinary work. He is a High Court Assessor on Costs Appeals and is contributing editor of the following publications (all 2008): Cook on Costs, Butterworths Civil Court Precedents, Butterworths Costs Service, Green Book, Halsbury’s Laws of England (Costs) and the Bar Handbook 2008. |
